CricX was founded by our Managing Director, Steven Hirst, in 2004. Initially founded to offer cricketers from his native New Zealand the chance to play league cricket in the UK, the agency has since grown substantially.

Since our founding, we have placed over 5,000 cricketers, including at least 1,000 first-class players, 200 internationals, and 25 national captains, such as recent skippers Tim Paine, Faf du Plessis, Dean Elgar, Keshav Maharaj, and Asghar Afghan.
CricX has placed some of the most iconic names in cricket, from past greats to modern-day superstars, and we continue to set the benchmark in player placements, with almost 700 cricketers placed in 2024 alone.

James has been with CricX since 2017, bringing a wealth of experience from his previous role with Scorpion Cricket. Now serving as a Director, he leads our English and Australian amateur placements, leveraging his extensive industry connections to secure opportunities for players.
As captain of Northern Cricket Club, James has guided his team to multiple titles including the Liverpool League, Lancashire Cup, and the prestigious ECB National T20. With a background in Minor County cricket and five seasons playing in Australia, James’s knowledge and extensive network make him an invaluable asset to CricX, dedicated to providing players with ideal placements in England and Australia.

Dan joined the CricX team in October 2024, following five successful years leading the Club Vitae agency.
Leveraging extensive industry knowledge and a strong cricketing background as a former Premier League captain, Minor Counties player, and active committee member, Dan brings valuable expertise to the recruitment process at CricX.
